Upon request, we can inspect the above-ground, visible components of the well system such as the pressure tank, pressure switch, well head and cap. Important defects can be found with such inspections such as leaks, exposed wiring, pitted contacts in the pressure switch, pressure gauges not working, and conditions that can lead to water contamination such as damaged well caps. This service is a visual evaluation, not a comprehensive well inspection. We do not check the air pressure in the tank, measure well "yield" or perform "draw down" tests, however, we will evaluate the functional flow of water at various fixtures. We will also collect a water sample for testing. The most common test is for bacteria (total Coliform and E coli) which is sometimes required by lenders. We can provide that service for our clients by collecting water samples and hand-delivering them to an EPA approved laboratory. Bacteria test results usually are ready the following business day.
